Open the Android Device Manager website from a browser on your friend's computer or smartphone. Then login with a paired Gmail account on your smartphone.
Once inside, you will be presented with Ring, Lock and Erase menus. Select the Lock menu.
Once clicked Lock, then you will be exposed to the menu view to change the password. Please create a new password to apply on your smartphone.
Note: If you want to lock a PIN or pattern key, the keys listed on your smartphone will be replaced by a new password key.
